Magnet is a voluntary integration program that provides rigorous, high-quality, theme-based instruction to facilitate student learning and promote academic achievement.

DLE students have the opportunity to become bilingual and biliterate by learning skills in two languages in all content areas, strengthening academic achievement and sociocultural competence.

K-12 schools receive the SAS designation for exemplary practices in meeting the unique academic and social-emotional needs of gifted/high ability learners.

ACS programs have additional selection requirements. L.A. Unified offers two single-gender Academies and four high schools with concurrent college enrollment. Students outside of L.A. Unified boundaries may apply.

Affiliated Charter Schools are semi-autonomous District schools with instructional program flexibility to meet the needs of a diverse student population. Anyone outside of the resident attendance boundary can apply.

The Conservatory is a Saturday supplemental instructional program providing differentiated arts instruction in dance, drama, voice, and visual arts to students in grades 3-12 identified as talented in the arts and students recommended by their schools of attendance as demonstrating talent in the arts.

Complying with AB-1114, the District’s K-12 Open Enrollment Transfer Program is another parental choice option for families residing within the LAUSD boundaries to apply to schools that have identified available seats for the subsequent school year.
